How could we integrate research into the day-to-day work of Coboi lab to delve deeper into topics of interest and extract learnings and reflections that could be useful?

Capsulabs are Coboi lab’s monthly knowledge capsules in which we share ideas and reflections resulting from the periodic internal research we do from the lab (through reading academic papers) on topics such as: labs, innovation or multi-stakeholder collaboration. Initially, they were conceived to be shared with other labs, public administration staff and people with an interest in public innovation.

[Background]

One of the main objectives of Coboi lab is to function as a knowledge space linked to topics such as public innovation, social innovation, collaborative methodologies, the role of public innovation laboratories, etc. For this reason, Coboi lab has incorporated research into its day-to-day work in order to delve deeper into these areas and extract new reflections and learnings that can be applied both from the laboratory and from the City Council itself.

At Coboi lab we believe that in an interconnected world, where problems are increasingly complex, it is necessary for research to interact directly with public policy, as this allows us to discover new perspectives, inspire new approaches and guide new municipal actions.

The actions derived from this project are linked to Action 3 of the Innodelta PECT (research and new forms of knowledge).

Our proposal is to generate spaces for reading, analysis and reflection on academic references linked to topics such as innovation, labs, multi-actor projects, among others. This project includes the following phases:

  1. Identification of different topics of interest and search for academic references.
  2. Assignment and reading of bibliography by the laboratory team.
  3. Collection of the main ideas of each document read through a template.
  4. Organization of presentation and reflection sessions on each reading.
  5. Generation of different communication products to disseminate the main learnings: the C apsulab.
  6. Practical application of learning in the laboratory and city environment.
