Co-designing public space, seeking a city-specific identity
The “Eixos cívics comercials” project aims to tackle the challenge of rethinking the commercial civic axes of Sant Boi from a new perspective and that they are perceived as a pleasant and environmentally friendly space.
In this way, we want to make Sant Boi a unique city, different from the rest of the territory and with its own identity, and that this will attract new socio-economic activities. This improvement involves addressing not only the issues of sustainability and / or mobility, but also incorporating urban design, art, culture and nature into our streets as transformative elements of our city.
To address this challenge, it is proposed to convene an idea competition for young people in the city in order to develop an ephemeral urban decoration project using sustainable materials and innovative techniques. Companies in Sant Boi de Llobregat, together with academic organizations and different departments of the City Council of Sant Boi, have participated in different meetings and activities that have taken place in Coboi lab to jointly devise a pilot test.
The Civic Axis Program is a project promoted by the City Council of Sant Boi de Llobregat, led by City Promotion and with the support of the public laboratory of social innovation, Coboi lab.
This action is subsidized by the Public Employment Service of Catalonia within the framework of Local Development Support Programs.
