On September 23, 2023 , CoboiLab joined as a host laboratory at the Open Living Lab Days , in Barcelona organized by the European Network of Living Labs (ENoLL) which brings together labs, civil servants, entrepreneurs, academics and innovators from around the world. It seeks to offer a platform for networking, exchanging good practices and paving the way for future collaborations.
Within the framework of this international meeting dedicated to people-centered innovation, CoboiLab opened its doors to receive several European labs and share experiences, methodologies and common challenges.
During the day, a space for close and relational exchange was created, where each attendee was able to learn firsthand how we work at CoboiLab, what our journey has been and what projects we are currently promoting. The occasion also allowed us to visualize the plurality of models and approaches that coexist within the European laboratory ecosystem, fostering new connections and possible future collaborations.
CoboiLab was presented as a local public laboratory that has evolved significantly since its creation. Although in its beginnings it focused mainly on entrepreneurship, it is currently oriented towards addressing urban challenges with a transversal, collaborative and transformative perspective.
This approach is implemented through three main lines of action:
The creation of relational platforms between actors in the territory.
The use of our own methodologies and specific knowledge in social innovation.
The construction of an experimentation environment to test real solutions with local impact.
During the Open Day, some of the projects that today articulate CoboiLab’s work were shared:
City Pact : Agreement between political forces to promote economic reconstruction and reduce post-pandemic inequalities.
PECT Innodelta : Joint initiative with municipalities and knowledge centers to promote innovation in the Llobregat Delta.
Cultural Creative Spaces and Cities : European project to share co-creation practices in the design of public policies.
Possible City[s] : Collective reflection on the city model and mobility in the wake of the health crisis.
Capsulab : Internal research line based on the reading and analysis of key articles on collaborative governance and innovation.
The Open Living Lab Days experience has been an opportunity to reaffirm CoboiLab’s role within the European lab community. A community that, like us, understands innovation as a tool at the service of the common good and the public structure as a living space, capable of transforming itself to provide more just and sustainable responses.
CoboiLab will continue to contribute from the territory, with a local vision but an open mind, to a global network that is committed to more innovative, participatory and humane cities .
