The Gasol Foundation promotes an ad hoc residency in the Espai BETA of Coboi lab , with the aim of generating scientific evidence and delving deeper into the use of Method 4>17 , Coboi lab’s own tool for collaborative resolution of social challenges .
A project that merges scientific research, entrepreneurial collaboration and methodological innovation.
The initiative arises from the desire of the Gasol Foundation research team to use the Espai BETA as a laboratory of ideas and a collaborative space in order to bring together and synthesize knowledge acquired in their projects to promote healthy habits and fight against childhood obesity in the format of academic articles.
In addition, it seeks to integrate Method 4>17 within their processes to address challenges in a collaborative and systematic way.
Based in Sant Boi de Llobregat and with an international reach, the Gasol Foundation works to ensure that all children grow up physically and mentally prepared for a full and healthy life.
The foundation needed a collaborative environment to focus the research team and, at the same time, explore new methodologies. The Espai BETA, with its experimental nature, proved to be the ideal place for that.
Intensive work sessions have been held by the foundation’s research team, daily meetings with the Coboi lab team and training sessions with experts such as Helmut Schöeder and Sergi Frías.

During the residency, daily meetings were held with the Coboi lab team to collect feedback on the experience in the BETA Space, highlight strengths and improvements, and assess the collaboration with other residents and young entrepreneurs. This constant dialogue enriched both the experience of the research team and the Coboi space itself.
In addition to scientific production, training in Method 4>17 brought a new perspective on project management and innovation within a socially committed foundation.
During this year, it is planned to continue promoting new academic hackathons and explore hybrid residency formats that reinforce the collaborative innovation approach of the Espai BETA.
