Co-creating solutions to social and health challenges through education

An educational hackathon using the 4>17 Method as a framework t0 address key community challenges related to youth health and wellbeing.

[Proposed]

The Educational and Social Innovation team of the Sant Joan de Déu Campus promoted HackB, a 3-day event aimed at promoting experimentation and co-creation among students, addressing real-life health problems that especially affect young people.

The HackB of the Sant Joan de Déu Teaching Campus incorporates the Social Innovation Method 4> 17 developed by Coboi Lab, a structured approach to collaboratively solving challenges through:

Mentor training → Coboi lab trains HackB mentors in the use of the 4>17 method, providing tools to guide teams in identifying, exploring and resolving challenges.
Application of the 4>17 method → Teams follow this methodology, which structures the process into 4 phases and 17 steps, from problem definition to proposing innovative solutions.
Teamwork and social innovation → Thanks to this model, participants learn to co-create solutions, assess their viability and communicate them effectively.

[Results]

Implementation of the 4>17 Method as a transversal methodology tool throughout all phases of HackB, showcasing its potential beyond the municipal scope, enabling diverse, shared approaches to solving challenges.
Collective reflection and idea exchange in an environment that has generated creative solutions to real challenges, such as unwanted loneliness or misinformation in emergency situations.
Strengthened the educational and professional community through shared experience.
Consolidated relationships with other local and regional actors (in this case, the Sant Joan de Déu Teaching Campus) with whom we aim to continue collaborating in future collective projects.
