The origin of the 4>17 Method stems from the deliberate intention of capitalizing, from within the public administration itself (in this case, at the local level), on the necessary know-how to drive co-creation processes without necessarily relying on external knowledge.
At Coboi Lab, we are committed to the creativity-methodology pairing and understand the development of creative processes through the rigor provided by specific methodological tools. The tool we present has been designed to facilitate and guide the processes of ideation, design, prototyping, and testing of innovative solutions that address complex challenges and support decision-making from a collaborative, multi-actor approach.
The set of tools proposed here is not new; they have already been used in various sectors, studied by many experts, and applied in different fields. They are mainly inspired by three methodologies: Service Design, Collective Impact, and Transition Arenas. Specifically, this method is divided into four phases (Observation, Exploration, Action Plan, and Implementation) and 17 sub-phases.
The Coboi Lab team has carried out a process of compilation, systematization, and customization to design a transferable guide adaptable to different fields, projects, and realities. We invite you to adapt and use it in your own context.
