The first weekend of November we were with a group of experts imagining what a center to boost citizen initiatives could be like.
The Sant Boi de Llobregat City Council, faced with the challenge presented by the socio-economic changes that have occurred in recent years, has proposed rethinking the role of a publicly owned building that currently does not achieve the full expected performance. Its objective is to create a center open to citizens that connects people, companies and diverse groups, and that stimulates the emergence of citizen initiatives with a positive impact on the territory.
In this context, CoBoi was invited to coordinate a first exploratory phase that imagined what functions it could fulfill, what services and activities it could offer, how citizens could be protagonists in this environment, what new relationships it could articulate in relation to the municipality’s own administration and, in general, what would be the relationship of this space with the municipal, regional and national territory. Some of the participants came from organizations such as Ouishare , Vivero de Iniciativas Ciudadanas , Àrea d’otres economies de Barcelona Activa , La Colaboradora (Zaragoza Activa) or LocalRet , in addition to the Sant Boi City Council and CoBoi.
To carry out this process, the CoBoi team invited a series of actors and experts related to public administration, social action and transformation, innovation in organizations, social economy, urban planning, entrepreneurship or citizen participation, to work during a weekend to devise and prototype this possible space.
The conference, entitled #1CeS1FINDE and was facilitated by the cooperative of collaborative practices oriented to innovation ColaBoraBora . It was an intense, fun and profitable experience in which, during three days of coexistence, collaboration was achieved from various disciplines and areas of expertise to lay the foundations of a document that will guide and inspire, not only the transformation process of this center, but also the impact that the territory itself and the evolution of CoBoi itself can generate.

We are currently summarizing the results of the intense day and will publish the report in early 2017. In the meantime, we are still reeling from everything that came out. For us, it was a point of no return.
