PECT Council Meeting

A key session to advance the joint strategy of the Innodelta project

The PECT Council meeting took place on December 20, 2022, a strategic session that brought together the agents involved in the Innodelta project to consolidate shared governance and define the next steps of this regional project. The event also served as an opportunity to celebrate Coboi Lab’s 10th anniversary.

The main objective of this session was to promote coordination and collective decision-making between the project’s partner institutions and entities. This space responds to the need for a shared governance structure that ensures the continuity and sustainability of the PECT beyond its initial phases.

The event began with a welcome from Sant Boi’s Mayor, Lluïsa Moret, who highlighted the importance of working together to solve common challenges, and the PECT Innodelta project is a good example. Coboi lab followed with a presentation using the metaphor of the life cycles of labs, which we already explained in the December Capsulab (more information here). These stages were compared with the recent evolution of Coboi Lab, including the unveiling of a special 10-year anniversary logo featuring the lab’s historical colors (blue as the original, and yellow and black as the current ones).

Teresa Ruiz from Viladecans City Council, presented the results of the 2022 PECT Innodelta project .These include the creation of 8 new direct jobs, in addition to 18 existing positions partially funded by the project. A total of 62 Technical Office meetings have been held, along with three PECT training sessions. As of May 2022, 58% of the total assigned budget has already been managed and justified to the Generalitat of Catalonia, both technically and financially.

Miguel Vallejo, also from the Viladecans City Council, presented the first pilot test: the DeltaHack Innodelta. This will be a collaborative work event between companies, technology centers, startups and entrepreneurs, willing to work for a period of two months to identify innovative solutions to challenges posed by our productive fabric. This initiative will take place in early 2023.

The session concluded with a conversation on the long-term continuity of the PECT Innodelta project. What will the territorial strategy be? How can inter-municipal collaboration evolve beyond this project?
